Our History at Countryside Golf Club
Countryside Golf Club is a public golf course located in Kaukauna, WI.
Family managed since its inception, Countryside’s front nine was constructed and opened by Joe Schmidt in 1965. While keeping a full-time job at a local mill, Joe guided Countryside through its infancy and weathered many hard times as the business grew.
After a few years, Joe gave up his career at the mill and devoted all of his energies toward the golf course. The back nine was opened for play in 1971.
Joe – along with his wife, Theresa, and their children – managed Countryside Golf Club from its inception through the 1979 season. Today Countryside is managed by Joe’s son, Tom, and his wife, Amy, along with their two children.
